Matt. 4:1 (ESVS)
Then Jesus was led up
by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 And after fasting
forty days and forty
nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him,
“If you are the
Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of
bread.” 4
But he
answered, “It
is written,
“‘Man shall not live by bread
alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of
God.’”
Matt. 4:5
(ESVS) Then the devil took him to
the holy city and set
him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the
Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,’
and
“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
Matt. 4:7
(ESVS) Jesus said to
him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall
not put the
Lord your God to the test.’” 8 Again, the devil took him to a
very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and
their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I
will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him,
“Be gone, Satan!
For it is
written,
“‘You shall worship the Lord your
God
and him only
shall you serve.’”
Matt. 4:11
(ESVS) Then the devil left
him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.

Matt. 7:15 (ESVS)
“Beware of false
prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly
are ravenous
wolves. 16 You will recognise them
by their fruits. Are
grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?
17 So, every healthy tree bears good
fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad
fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good
fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognise
them by their
fruits.
Matt. 7:21
(ESVS) “Not everyone who says to me,
‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord,
did we not prophesy in your name, and cast
out demons in
your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them,
‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of
lawlessness.’
Matt. 7:24
(ESVS) “Everyone then who hears these
words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on
the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods
came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not
fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words
of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house
on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods
came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell,
and great was the fall of it.”
Matt. 7:28
(ESVS) And when Jesus
finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his
teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one
who had authority, and not as their scribes. Read
